Steve Petrunak

Guitarist, Composer, Instructor, Clinician, Author

Steve Petrunak has a catalog of more than 1,000 recordings of guitar-based instrumentals of popular songs, spanning a myriad of various styles and genres, promoted across many download and streaming platforms. Steve has been the Artistic Director and Primary Conductor of 200+ voice choirs for three different performances on the Perelman Stage in Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall. He has nearly 50 years experience leading Catholic Church music ministry and has offered numerous music clinics and workshops across the country. Steve has also taught more than 150 guitar students over the past 40 years.

Steve is known nationally for his service as President and CEO of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians from 2017-2020. In addition, Steve sat for two terms as a member of the NPM Board of Directors and as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the American Guild of Music. He is also a founding member of the non-profit Catholic Liturgical Ensemble Formation that offers significant music programming for ensemble church musicians.

Steve is known locally for his work as a music instructor at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit and is currently the Director of Music at St. Blase Catholic Church in Sterling Heights, MI. Steve lives with his wife Ruth in Washington, MI.
